Founded by Sue Mingus, the group features world-class musicians performing the bold, genre-defying compositions that helped shape modern jazz. Blending hard bop, blues, gospel, swing, and avant-garde influences, Mingus Dynasty delivers an electrifying live experience filled with fearless improvisation, emotional depth, and explosive ensemble energy. From beloved classics like Goodbye Pork Pie Hat and Haitian Fight Song to vibrant reinterpretations of Mingus’ visionary work, each performance honors his enduring spirit while pushing the music forward with fresh vitality and contemporary relevance.
