Musician, performance artist, filmmaker, actor, author, photographer, and dancer TAV FALCO formed THE PANTHER BURNS with rock god Alex Chilton in Memphis in 1979. The master of raw and shambolic fusion of rockabilly, blues, and fractured noise, Tav Falco was, along with The Cramps, one of the earliest purveyors of what would come to be known as psychobilly. His journey soon blew him to New York (slumming with The Gun Club's Jeffrey Lee Pierce) where he became a fixture in the early '80s downtown no wave/punk/art scene, a regular on Glenn O'Brien's TV Party, and featured attraction at storied venues like CBGB, Danceteria, and The Mudd Club (where you see him in a cameo in Downtown 81). Consistently touring and evolving his daring conceptual post-modern revisions of the raw power of the secret history of roots music in both stunningly imaginative covers and distinctive original material, the road brought him back to Memphis and eventually to Europe where he's continued to prolifically tour and create compelling new recordings that have been cited as an influence by everyone from The Fall, The Gories, Pussy Galore/Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Spacemen 3/Spiritualized, Primal Scream, Fat White Family, and an infinity of your favorite artists along the way. His unforgettable live performances continue to be the stuff of legend! This stacked bill also includes the high-octain fuzzed-out garage of Philly's THE OUT-SECT, the raw Back From The Grave punk of LICKS, the frantic Wanda Jackson interpretations of NYC supergroup THE WAND-ERS, and the exuberant original vinyl stylings of DJ MIKE DECAY!
