BOOM BOOM REVOLUTION Presents: Dominican Restoration Day On August 16th, 1863, the warriors of Capotillo raised the blue, red, and white, declaring to the world that sovereignty is non-negotiable and that the spirit of Ayiti’Kiskeya cannot be recolonized. As Boom Boom Revolutionaries, we honor that historic defiance in our truest fashion! Through the unyielding might of the drum inherited from our African and Taino ancestors, the frequency of resistance, and keeping the sacred fire of the moment, we show out against the oppressor! Tonight, we move in direct lineage of those who fought so that we could stand, dance, and live the truest image of our heritage. We summon the spirit of Lemba Calembo, Gregorio Luperon, the carnaval, the energy of the palenques, and the power of the diaspora all into one space to prove that the revolution is alive. We feel it, we embody it, and we make sure the future hears us coming!
