Circus of Wolves is an alternate/indie-rock seven-piece group. They create a highly distinctive musical fusion working at the crossroads of different musical styles. You’ll hear a blend of rock, folk, soul. Brazilian and jazz influences; all rolled up into unforgettable, hummable melodies: with tight vocal and instrumental arrangements.The seven players have come together from diverse musical backgrounds. Singer/Songwriter and guitarist Andy Jones grew up in the UK and looked to American and Brazilian music as sources of inspiration. Lead vocalist Nicole Ryan grew up in the Hudson Valley and started out singing jazz standards in a duo with her dad. Panamanian-born Ruperto Ifil on drums and percussion moved to Brooklyn as a teenager and quickly became a part of New York’s jazz scene. Harvey Boyer on keyboards and vocals comes from a family with a strong musical heritage. He’s classically trained and is an accomplished solo and ensemble performer. He’s a recognized music educator. Mike Ralff on bass guitar is another Hudson Valley native with mind-bending musical experience: everything from symphonic to punk music. Tommy Porto (sax and flute) and Kim Nicholas (trumpet and flugelhorn) are friends from childhood who met while taking brass lessons. They bring a natural empathy to the horn arrangements; and have an amazing ability to mix styles and move seamlessly from jazz to big band sounds to rock, soul, funk and beyond.The music is full of strong grooves. Often high energy and then reflective and deeply emotional. Melodic, well-crafted songs that touch your heart, convey an infectious optimism and get your feet tapping.Circus of Wolves released their first full length album in 2018, ‘Collective Pulse’. They are currently working on a series of digital EP’s. First up was ‘Shades of Blue’, released in 2023. Most recently, ‘Honest Fire’ was released in Summer 2024. A new digital single will be released in 2025.
