DINHO DINHO began when Shaan Ken Rao started using GarageBand in 2016. The artist’s first release is a collection of songs written before 2021 in which he sways between grungepop and indie rock, with hints of soul, funk, and bossa nova in the rhythm and instrumental stylings. Sometime in 2022, Shaan teamed up with Thomas Norton, in order to begin playing live shows. Since joining DINHO DINHO, Thomas has also been writing lyrics and instrumental parts for songs alongside Shaan, and the two have more than half of DINHO DINHO's next release recorded. As a duo, DINHO DINHO played a few shows at All St Gallery's two locations (77 East 3rd St. and 119 Hester St) After these successful shows, DINHO enlisted a drummer (Colum Enrique) and a bassist (Dominic LaMorte) and debuted as a full band at the distinguished Mercury Lounge. They are playing Bowery Electric and Berlin to cap off 2023, and have many shows coming next year.
