NEAL CAINE QUARTET (2 SETS) — live event

NEAL CAINE QUARTET (2 SETS)

Neal Caine / Bass Deborah Davis / Vocalist Andrew Fisher / Piano Taru Alexander / Drums Neal “Sugar” Caine is one of the premier jazz bassists on the scene today. His dynamic style is punctuated by a huge sound, a great feel, and masterful technique that have made him the chosen bassist to an array of stars, from Harry Connick, Jr. and Diana Krall, to the venerable jazz legends Betty Carter and Elvin Jones. A dual resident of New York City and New Orleans, this St. Louis native has delighted audiences worldwide since he began touring internationally at age 19 with the Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet. Andrew Fisher was born in Southampton, UK in 1976, and started composing from a young age, developing an interest in musical story-telling, especially musical theatre and film music. Andrew’s Songbook was released in April 2021 to some glowing reviews, which followed on the heels of his Christmas Nativity musical Gabriel with a book by Nick Stimson (released in December 2020), and The Little Fox, released in September 2020. Prior to this, Andrew’s one woman musical Girl In a Crisis, starring Oliver winner Lorna Want, was performed to rave reviews in London 2018. Other composition credits include music for the video games Guardians of Ancora (which has been translated into five languages and been downloaded 2 million times worldwide), the horror film Nine Miles Down and the animated comedy-drama short Lily White. His additional composition credits for television include the natural history series Great Barrier Reef (BBC), and How the Universe Works (Discovery). Taru Alexander is an American jazz drummer, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is a son of Roland Alexander, an American post-bop jazz tenor saxophone player from Boston, Massachusetts.
