Renny Conti is a Brooklyn-based musician, songwriter, and producer from San Rafael, CA. His songs are often whimsical and full of experimentation, while simultaneously grounded by his influences like Neil Young or John Prine. Renny often borrows from the books he reads and movies he watches to construct fictional narrators in his songs, as his records invoke characters to house his emotions. Conti’s live set leans into the playfulness of his records, a set that feels unconditionally alive, organic and antithetical to the hyper-technological rigidity of music today. His forthcoming self-titled album follows his 2022 record might.bail, 2020’s Figurines with standout tracks like “Pornstar,” and his 2018 debut People Floating. Conti is also one half of the Brooklyn alt-country band Hut, a side-project with duo-mate Darryl Rahn that gives his twangier and harder songs a home.
