Lexxie Mathis is a session bass player, composer, and ambient musician. This show celebrates the release of her new record, the edge of forever, a deeply personal and emotive project, and her favorite work to date. She’ll be joined by Samuel Nobles, a fellow ambient artist whose piano playing is gentle, hypnotic, and at the heart of the record, and Mikey Mester on drums. Lexxie doesn’t perform live often, so when she does, it’s intimate — a soft invitation into her world. Her music is nostalgic and dreamy, healing and immersive, meant to be felt as much as heard.From the outskirts of New York City, Elora moved to Brooklyn during her undergrad with her partner Theo Walentiny (pianist, composer, producer). The two began producing Elora’s songs in 2020 while sharing an apartment with no doors in quarantine.
