Psyched! Radio SF presents a night of psychedelic cumbia at Eli’s Mile High Club in Oakland. Headlining the night is Chicha Libre, the Brooklyn-based group known for blending Peruvian chicha, surf rock, and vintage psychedelia. Led by Olivier Conan, the band reimagines 60s and 70s Amazonian cumbia with a modern twist, as heard on their acclaimed albums ¡Sonido Amazonico! and Canibalismo. Sharing the stage are Philthy Dronez and El Pecado de Juana, delivering fuzzed-out, hypnotic rhythms, with Lizzy Al Toque on the decks and visuals by Tsar Koshka. Friday May 9th at Eli’s Mile High Club Oakland. Doors at 7PM music at 8PM. $15 advance $20 at the door. Don’t miss this cosmic cumbia trip.
