QIRL: Roll over any rock in Brooklyn and you’ll find a bunch of bugs underneath. QIRL are just the few, big enough to pick up instruments. They make dirty and clueless punk music for no other reason than a distaste for sunlight and order. Their debut album “Fiction Factory” was released early 2024, blending art punk with themes of blue collar work life, and queer communist ideologies. This blend is becoming know as a new sub-genre called Bug Punk. Suburban Speed: Suburban Speed is the bastard spawn of Carson Walsh and Seth Sosebee, born out of the concrete Tetris constipation of Southern California and rolling thunderous hills of the Bible Belt respectively. Coming to in the gutter of a post Bloomberg Brooklyn to the sound of crooked saxophones, power tools, blood curdling bass guitar feedback and a battered drum machine haunting the wreckage of Jack Kerouac on the Steve Allen Show. On March 25th of this year, Suburban Speed released their debut single, “Pink Plastic Lighter”. A rolling blackout introduction to the band’s singular nauseating sound and blurred vision. Keep your ear to the rails, friends. Austin Royale: Austin Royale is an alternative artist + producer originally from Durham, NC also residing in Brooklyn, NYC. Active in the NC hip-hop and HC & Punk shows, he’s performed in various cities such as Atlanta, NYC and Los Angeles. 2024 embodies the arrival of Austin Royale’s official debut with the release of his first full-length original project; intending to be an extensive conceptual effort. Eevie Echoes & The Locations: Eevie Echoes & The Locations are a 4 piece queercore punk band based in Brooklyn, NY. The lineup includes Eevie Echoes (rhythm guitar, vocals) Emma Taylor (lead guitar, vocals) Bridgette Carlson (bass) and Nick Grasso (drums). As a trans POC fronted and mostly queer band, their music has a strong emphasis on LGBTQ issues, while always bringing raw power, pure emotion, and radical authenticity to each and every song.
