Experience a masterclass in orchestral color and drama at Symphony Center. This evening pairs two Russian masterpieces: Stravinsky's Petrushka, a ballet score brimming with carnival chaos and puppet tragedy, and Shostakovich's Belshazzar's Feast, a visceral choral work that cuts to the heart of power and ruin. Under Mäkelä's direction, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and chorus bring these bold, uncompromising works to vivid life. A concert for listeners who crave music with edge, depth, and unforgettable impact.
