NY Phil with Casita Maria’s Bronx Banda — live event
Presented in collaboration with New York Philharmonic and Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education Musicians from the New York Philharmonic perform alongside Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education’s BronX BandA, a nine-piece jazz ensemble.Together, the ensembles play original works informed by oral histories of Bronx residents; the event also includes an independent performance by BronX BandA. The concert represents a continuing collaboration between the NY Phil and BronX BandA that began during the pandemic indoor concert shutdown. BronX BandA performed during NY Philharmonic Bandwagon 2, at Father Gigante Plaza in the Bronx on May 21, 2021, and Philharmonic musicians joined the ensemble as headliners in the South Bronx Culture Trail Festival on June 5, 2021.
