Haide na Horo - Let's Party! — live event
Mila Vocal Ensemble and the Traki folk band invite you to a Bulgarian dance party. Traki will play Bulgarian folk instruments, including the gaida (Bulgarian bagpipe), gadulka (Bulgarian fiddle), tupan (Bulgarian drum), and accordion. Mila will sing beautiful a cappella tunes that the choir learned in Bulgaria this past July. The groups will even collaborate on a few tunes! There will be mind-melting improvisation and crunchy harmonies, all performed live. Dancers and music-listeners of all ages are invited to try out new dance steps in the horo (line dance) or simply enjoy a nice beverage from the Amsterdam bar while bobbing their heads to the irregular Bulgarian rhythms. All are welcome, especially if you've never experienced this music before!
