48 Record Bar Presents Okonski Live at The Philadelphia Ethical Society A WRTI Live Event Please join us on Rittenhouse Square for 48 Record Bar's first-ever offsite concert event! Okonski is the eponymous piano trio led by Asheville, North Carolina–based pianist Steve Okonski, featuring Michael Isvara Montgomery on upright bass and Aaron Frazer on drums. Often recording fully improvised performances directly to tape, the trio’s music has been described as meditative, introspective, and ethereal. Okonski’s compositions emphasize space and melody, pairing expressive piano lines with subtle rhythm and texture. A longtime collaborator with Durand Jones & The Indications, he has also worked with Say She She, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Scott McMicken, among others. All three Okonski releases, including 2025’s Entrance Music are out now on Colemine Records. This is a WRTI Live event. 48 Record Bar will also be featuring a pop-up bar at the event.
