Phillip Johnston Phillip Johnston is a saxophonist/composer known for leading or co-leading The Microscopic Septet , Fast ‘N’ Bulbous , Big Trouble , The Transparent Quartet , and for his scores for film, silent film and comics ( Wordless! with Art Spiegelman). His most recent recording is I Cakewalked With A Zombie (EAR081) by Phillip Johnston & the Greasy Chicken Orchestra . He has lived in Sydney, Australia, since 2005 and plays in his hometown of New York City when circumstances allow. For this event, he will be joined by long-time associates from the bands named above, plus special guests. This will be his only New York appearance.
