Grounds Crew, w/ Added Color, and Warsaw Clinic

In the Fall of 2017, Marietta, GA native, Chip Mattiford, began songwriting and assembling a band to support. With original member/fellow local MLB grounds crew compadre, Chris Kelly, on keyboards/vocals, the duo played several local songwriters shows featuring the early originals under “The Grounds Crew” moniker before eventually meeting Kennesaw, GA based drummer, Ricky Darnell, who joined them onstage at one of the first gigs in early 2018. In Summer 2018, the trio set out to record demos of the first songs and eventually reached out to Atlanta-based guitarist/producer, Carlos Santiago to play bass on the tracks. The trio would go on to self produce/release their first in-house demos in 2019-2020, the “Letters EP”, followed by several in-house singles (Jailbird, 5001) and an acoustic EP titled “Remember It.” In the Summer of 2020, the band recorded its first full-length studio album, “Firestarter”, which was released in December 2020 and featured two introductory singles in “Nothing You’ll Ever Want to See” and “Put the Fire Out.” In June 2021, the band parted ways with Darnell and connected with multi-instrumentalist, Sean Maloney, to take over percussion duties. The band released its second EP, "Shitty Music for Bad People" featuring the singles “While We’re Waiting” and "Enjoy Your Holiday" in January 2022. In February 2022, drummer Brandon Burks took over percussion duties from Maloney as the band begins work on its next album.
