Laura Galindo: Laura Galindo is a queer, Colombian singer/songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and showman with a restless spirit and love for the sincere. Her knack for storytelling works in tandem with her wide range of influences, from dancey Daft Punk to diaristic Amy Winehouse. A Brooklyn fixture, she’s been making music with her best friends for over 7 years now. As a multi-hyphenated music and theatre artist, she works in the creation and performance of both mediums and is deeply interested in how they intersect–her live shows reflect this. Stello: We make songs for the nighthawks at the diner. Stello was formed in 2014 as the brainchild of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kit Conway. Kit wrote the band’s first songs in the witching hour staring out the back window of a tiny East Village apartment, and this spirit of the nocturnal city continues to be Stello’s defining characteristic. Initially a solo act, Stello grew into a quintet of virtuosic instrumentalists who connected over similar attitudes of genre fluidity. Their sound reflects their personnel: five jazz-trained musicians who grew up worshipping the likes of David Bowie as much as Miles Davis. Leaning on deliberate, intricate craftsmanship in the studio and a rambunctious high-energy experience on-stage, Stello has developed a cult following both in NYC and nationwide. Juno Roome: brooklyn dream pop Dreamphone: Dreamphone is an indie-alternative project by vocalist Hattie Simon & producer/multi-instrumentalist Seb Zel. Powered by vivid lyricism and a bold, no-holds-barred approach to production, their music embraces radical shifts in texture and intensity. Moments of lush, ethereal orchestration give way to pounding, oversaturated drum grooves; introspective verses swell to soaring, anthemic choruses. Deft songwriting lies at the root of it all; beneath the duo’s hyper-modern sonics and imaginative production, a strong pop-oriented melodism is ever-present.
