Claire Ozmun (EP Release), Adeline Hotel, Hiding Places — live event

"Claire Ozmun is soft and mean, a nascent songwriter with a powerful alto voice and even deeper conviction to cut to the core. The literacy and wit of her lyrics don't glamorize the unflinching voice behind them (all lipstick, all pig)." -Autumn Swiers Hiding Places, a band from Asheville, NC and Athens, GA are based in Brooklyn, NY. Pics by Kyler Vollmar & Alec Peyton :~) One pleasure of following Dan Knishkowy's Adeline Hotel in recent years is the way each album suggests something new about the project: a record of folk songs (2020’s Solid Love) led to a set of solo guitar explorations (2021’s Good Timing) led to a suite of piano-led chamber music (The Cherries Are Speaking, 2021’s second Adeline album). Hot Fruit, the latest, follows that gradual trajectory. The record began as works for acoustic guitar, with experimental jazz trio Scree (electric guitarist Ryan El-Solh, bassist Carmen Rothwell, and drummer Jason Burger), and pianist Winston Cook-Wilson (of Office Culture), adding their improvisatory flourishes to these meticulous compositions.
