Don Slepian + Idpyramid + Coventry — live event
A computer engineer turned ambient artist, Don Slepian is mostly known for his remarkable, electronic piano pieces. Ethereal, delicate, and intricately commanding, Slepian boasts twirling synths and improvised, whimsical songs. A true electronic music pioneer. Idpyramid is the synthwave soundscape project of midwest musical chameleon Dennis Hockaday (ex-Mondo Drag and Meth and Goats). Idpyramid draws on a variety of sounds to create their own unique style of spaced-out deep groove dance jams, ranging from the minimal early electronic Krautrock sounds of the late 60's to the synth-heavy dance grooves of 1980's synth pop. Coventry is the electronic music project of composer and multi-instrumentalist, John Gamiño. Known for his work with Mondo Drag and, more recently, Blood Incantation, he displays a rich tapestry of synthesized sound. Pulling inspiration from berlin school, ambient music, and film scores, Coventry delivers a transportive live experience.
