Every artist has their own way of getting into the songwriting mindset, and for Dylan Chambers it’s imagining his life with a time machine. “I imagine myself going back in time to pitch a song to James Brown or the Spinners,” he chuckles. “I’m bummed I was born too late to experience that moment in music.” But rather than stop there, the LA-based singer-songwriter uses that retro funk lean to launch himself into a technicolor modern soul pop sky.
