YÜTZI [pronounced: YUTE-zee] is one of the hottest emerging rock bands in the Mid-Atlantic. In their first 2 years as a band, they have taken the local music scene by storm: ● Released 15 songs on Spotify and all streaming platforms ● Received radio play in the US & Europe ● Completed 2 Mid-Atlantic Tours ● Headlined The Recher Theatre (700-person Venue) twice and The 8x10 three times ● Opened for Grammy-winning blues artist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram at a sold out 8x10 ● Played with 2 nationally touring acts; Jimmie’s Chicken Shack & Kind Hearted Strangers ● Played the official Andy Frasco afterparty at True Chesapeake Oyster Co, drawing 200+ ● Collaborated on a song with Baltimore music legend, Cris Jacobs ● ‘Quicksand’, YÜTZI’s first single was featured in a documentary film by Mountain Gazette ● Released a full-length music video and NPR Tiny Desk Entry (11k+ Views) ● Played at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. ● Drew 300+ at their first headlining show at The Recher Theatre Formed by Baltimore childhood friends, Tom Starr and Austin Lasky named the band YÜTZI to pay homage to their elementary school rock band instructor, Mr. Yutzy. The band’s explosive, funky, psychedelic rock sound has drawn comparisons to Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gary Clark Jr., and The Black Keys.
