Tommy Stinson (The Replacements), Ma'am, The Gasoline

Thomas Eugene Stinson is an American rock musician. He came to prominence in the 1980s as the bass guitarist for The Replacements, one of the definitive American alternative rock groups. After their breakup in 1991, Stinson formed Bash & Pop, acting as lead vocalist, guitarist and frontman. “Are they country? Are they crazy? Does it matter? Hailing from somewhere in Central Pennsylvania Ma’aM is a seven headed cowpoke racing their horse & buggy off the road into a city near you! Mangling outlaw spirited alt-country & greasy garage rock they create their own concoction of country junk that'll leave yer bottles empty and yer honky-tonk hearts full.” The Gasoline is George Eve (vocals/guitar), Gigi Gardner (bass), and Chris Trombley (drums) – a 3 piece rock band from New York City by way of London. Following the conclusion of the London garage rock quartet Joy Room, Eve moved to NYC for a change of scenery and better cheeseburgers. While writing the band’s first songs he lived Seinfeld-style across the hall from Donald Cumming, frontman of downtown indie rock icons The Virgins. Through Donald, George quickly found himself introduced to and in the studio with producer/engineer Gus Oberg (The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jr.), where the two began working out a dozen tracks. Gigi (formerly of London’s idiosyncratic post-punkers Famous) and Chris were quickly enlisted to elevate the sound and round out the band’s live lineup. Their first ever show came at a Mercury Lounge packed wall-to-wall with bodies and Matt Hitt (The Vaccines, Drowners) assuming the evening’s lead guitar responsibilities. The band’s sound looks back to move forward, retooling the spirit of the 2000s guitar band pantheon through a heightened emphasis on melody and lyrics inspired by rap all while guided by sensibilities of timeless 60s and 70s songwriting. Their debut single, ‘Midnight’ was released in February of 2024.The Gasoline are from New York City, produced by Gus Oberg (The Strokes, The Virgins)
