WINTER METAL MELTDOWN TRIPLE-HEADER. GIRLSCHOOL are one of the most enduring names to emerge from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Formed in 1975, they became closely associated with MOTÖRHEAD and enjoyed major success in the early 1980s with their distinctive blend of punk-infused metal. Nearly five decades later, they remain the longest-running all-female rock band in the world, continuing to tour internationally and inspire generations of female musicians. Original members Kim McAuliffe and Denise Dufort remain at the heart of the band alongside longtime bassist Tracey Lamb. RAVEN are true heavy metal pioneers. Formed in Newcastle in 1974 by brothers John and Mark Gallagher, the band helped shape the sound of speed and thrash metal through a string of hugely influential NWOBHM releases.
