Blue Ranger are an Upstate New York based band. In 2024 they released Close Your Eyes (Ruination Record Co.), their first LP in five years and their most collaborative to date. The stomach of Blue Ranger is derived from their live shows, which can be felt in the intentional nature of Close Your Eyes, but also in the band’s sonic curiosity. Bridging electronica, soft-folk, and ambient rock, Blue Ranger’s details lie in playing with negative space, and of the kismet that brings them together. Sam Sodomsky is a writer and musician based in Park Slope. He records and performs as The Bird Calls and releases albums through Ruination Record Co. His writing has been published in The New York Times, The Nation, Pitchfork, and elsewhere.R&D is the collaborative duo of harpist Rebecca El-Saleh (Kitba) and guitarist Dan Knishkowy (Adeline Hotel), formed with the aim of playing purely for the sake of playing. Their music is improvised and experimental, with conversation as the root of expression. R
