Elvis Costello brings his acclaimed “Radio Soul!: The Songs of Elvis Costello From The Early Days to the Late Hours” tour to the Frauenthal Center on September 18. Joined by The Imposters—Steve Nieve, Pete Thomas, and Davey Faragher—and guitarist Charlie Sexton, Costello will perform songs drawn from the first decade of his recording career, spanning My Aim Is True (1977) through Blood & Chocolate (1986), along with select songs from throughout his catalog. The program features music from a remarkable period that produced many of Costello’s most celebrated compositions, including “Watching the Detectives,” “Alison,” “Man Out of Time,” “Brilliant Mistake,” and “I Want You.” While focused on these early works, the evening also leaves room for unexpected selections and reinterpretations.
