Shot over five days at Battersea Arts Centre and on location in London & Brighton, THIS MUCH I KNOW TO BE TRUE captures Nick Cave & Warren Ellis’ exceptional creative relationship as they bring to life the songs from their two studio albums, Ghosteen (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds) and Carnage (Nick Cave & Warren Ellis). In this document of their first ever performances of these albums, filmed ahead of their UK tour, we see the two, accompanied by singers and string quartet, as they nurture each song into existence. Interstitial pieces between the songs will illuminate the cosmology and themes of the music. Nick and Warren’s creative chemistry is rooted in their long history of music making. They first crossed paths in 1993, when Warren was hired to play violin on Let Love In, the eighth album by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, with him going on to become a fully fledged member of the band shortly after.
