Numa Crew is a Florence-based collective of DJs, producers, and MCs founded in 2005. Among the earliest champions of Italy's dubstep movement, they developed a sound rooted in sound system culture, blending dub, reggae, grime, jungle, and drum & bass into heavyweight, bass-driven productions built for the dance. Joining them on the mic are Jman & Mistafire, two UK MCs steeped in sound system culture, whose chat moves across dub, dancehall, grime, and 140 with the energy of the dance clash tradition. About Echo Chamber: Echo Chamber returns in 2026, rebooting Dub-Stuy's long-running series, first launched in 2012, as an ongoing residency at Public Records. Hosted on select Thursdays in the Sound Room, the series centers sound, system, and the dancefloor as spaces for open listening and exploration. Programming traces a wide musical arc from Jamaica to the UK and New York, moving fluidly from foundation reggae and dub into dub techno, dubstep, drum & bass, and global bass, connecting lineage with future-facing sounds. Powered by Public Records' bass-forward quadraphonic system, each session pairs Dub-Stuy resident DJs with special guests from the global sound system community. \- Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
