Argentinean musician Carmen Lienqueo has spent 20 years performing in folk-rooted groups, drawing from popular poetry and the singing traditions of South America. She traveled extensively across the continent with various projects, including the Chilean-Colombian band Makina Kandela which was her primary vehicle for 11 years. She uses her maternal name for her her current exploration as a soloist and singer-songwriter and her current repertoire has lyrics imbued with intimacy that echo everyday reality of the society in which she lives and her experiences as an artist.
