Kenny Sharp: Kenny Sharp is a singer-songwriter with a genre-bending sound dubbed “Brown Liquor Music.” Born in Montgomery, Alabama to two Air Force officers, Kenny’s upbringing was defined by frequent moves and new experiences, before settling into his hometown, Washington D.C. Drawing on anything from Soul & Blues to Country & Hip-Hop, he effortlessly weaves together disparate styles with powerful vocal performances and natural storytelling instincts. Over the last few years Kenny has particularly put a focus on songwriting and developing as a performer. In 2021, he opened for Citizen Cope at New York City’s “City Winery” and has since toured both Italy and Ireland in addition regular gigs in his new home of Nashville, Tennessee. In the same year, a song Kenny co-wrote caught the attention of former President Barack Obama, who listed the song “Witchoo” by Durand Jones and the Indications as one of his favorite tracks of the year. Currently, Kenny resides in Nashville and does writing sessions for his publisher Prescription Songs while he continues to release music and perform with his band billed as Kenny Sharp & Brown Liquor Music.”
