The Criticals are a Nashville based rock band formed by Parker Forbes and Cole Shugart. Since officially forming in 2018, The Criticals have proven themselves a powerful and fierce duo — one with both a diverse musical appetite in their songwriting and a whiplash live show that’s drawn sellout crowds in major US markets including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Now, following their highly-regarded EPs — 2019’s Mimosa Hygiene and the following year’s Sour Grapes — not to mention a steady diet of raucous live shows, the band has released their most accomplished work yet with Front Door Confrontations, The Criticals thrilling new six-track EP, out now on Fantasy Records. Modern Alibi is a high-energy alt rock band from Charlotte, NC, founded by musician and songwriter, Holden Scott. The band has been quickly making a name for itself in NC where it has been playing to sold-out crowds in Charlotte and surrounding areas. The lineup includes Holden Scott (rhythm guitar/lead singer), Josh King (bass), Christian Sturt (drums), and Carter Ritz (lead guitar). The 4-piece indie rock band delivers a heavy vibe tempered by grooving bass lines, modern drumbeats, vintage guitar tones, and a uniquely rich and rhythmic vocal tone. Its sound has been described as a cross between the Arctic Monkeys and twenty one pilots. Modern Alibi’s Instagram has been catching the eyes of many new followers and popular artists where they introduce original music and showcase highlights of their live performances. In 2023 the band was named Best New Band in Charlotte by Queen City Nerve, Charlotte's alt newspaper. In 2024 the band performed at the inaugural Lovin’ Life Festival and the main stage at the Charlotte Pride Festival, a 2-day festival with attendance of over 260K. The band released 3 singles in 2023 and its debut EP, "M/A Extended Play," in March ‘24. In Oct ‘24, the band will support Friday Pilots Club in Charlotte and The Criticals in NYC, DC, Atlanta, Nashville, and Chicago, then will headline a NYE show at Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte. Currently, the band is putting finishing touches on their 1st full 11-song album to be released in early 2025!
