Cellist Jason McComb then takes centerstage for Saint-Saëns’s dazzling Cello Concerto No. 1, a virtuosic showcase of passion and lyricism. The concert concludes with Schubert’s dramatic Symphony No. 4, “Tragic,” a work of striking intensity and energy.
