Adoraborealis is the nom de plume of singer-songwriter/producer Mike Messer and a band of astounding A-List-All-Stars .. on 2/27 the lineup includes the incredible talents of Tom McCaffrey, Adam Roberts and Greg Gonzalez. A big, delightful melange of progressive folk, rock and world music, Adoraborealis’ debut record “Live and in Two Persons” (recorded at the legendary and deeply missed Rockwood Stage 2) and the subsequent singles from the upcoming record “Scrapbooks and Scar Tissue” received critical praise for the moving melodic tunes, deep wordplay and rare blend of influences, drawing comparisons to Cat Stevens, Jeff Buckley, Paul Simon, Vampire Weekend, Randy Newman and David Bowie. Guitars and soaring emotive vocals take center stage within swirling prog chords and latin grooves, with lyrics that champion Love’s endurance and survival over heartbreak, loss and isolation. The songs strive to soothe and lift your soul, and make you dance and feel GREAT. Adoraborealis was first founded as a recording project during pandemic times, when Messer found himself unable to play live. He started “Cooped Up Concerts”, and played online every day sharing music and positive messaging to help keep everyone from going crazy.. He began playing shows as Adoraborealis as soon as the world allowed, and since has been featured on Sirius XM radio, the podcasts “The Long Island Sound” and “Comics who love Comics” headlined shows in Los Angeles and New York, and made Rockwood it’s home for the latter half of 2023, playing a show a month. Adoraborealis is now planning an East Coast tour. Keep an ear open for that, and an album’s worth of new singles to be rolled out over the next months.
