BROOKLYN MAQAM presents: DOLUNAY — live event

BROOKLYN MAQAM presents: DOLUNAY

Brooklyn Maqam is an organization dedicated to presenting Middle Eastern (in particular, Arabic) music, with the goals of expanding its audience, preserving it as an art form, and building community centered around the music. THIS MONTH: DOLUNAY Since 2012, Dolunay has explored the rich traditions of Turkish music. Rooted in traditional Turkish repertoire and Rumeli songs, the ensemble also presents original compositions that draw inspiration from these enduring forms while standing as distinct works of their own. The music of Dolunay (Turkish “full moon”) offers listeners an escape from the press of city life.
