He's worked with legends like Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin and many others. Originally hailing from Seattle, Smith received a full scholarship to attended the Juilliard School of Music 2001-2005 as part of the inaugural class of Jazz Studies, Wynton Marsalis was his primary trumpet teacher.
