Roméo Poirier — live event

Brussels-based musician, photographer and erstwhile lifeguard ROMEO POIRIER makes sleek, subaqueous electro-acoustic music. His Kit Records debut ‘SURFACES’ EP soundtracked four of Roméo's favourite swimming pools. These scenes glide in and out of earshot, bustling like miniature engines, finely tuned and rhythmically confounding. They echo the factory sampling work of YMO’s ‘Technodelic’: industrial but somehow good-natured - a symbiosis of machinery and wildlife, like an artificial reef or propeller blades smothered in algae. Now releasing work on Jan Jelinek’s Faitiche imprint, Roméo makes a happy return to London, showcasing his honed and evolved live show. DIALECT is the solo project of British musician and composer Andrew PM Hunt. Embracing an intuitive, collage-like approach to sound, Hunt assembles rich organic textures with evocative electro-acoustic environments, resulting in compositions that are both fragmented and deeply personal. British South African composer and producer GALINA JURITZ recently presented '𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒅 𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌', her debut solo album, on Kit Records. As a classically trained violinist, Galina has worked in ensembles such as 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐡𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞, and in various combinations featuring leading musicians from Cape Town and Johannesburg's celebrated classical and jazz scenes.
