The two bonded over their shared love of 90s hip hop and indie rock and quickly found a formula that combined these influences. "With Stephen’s ear for hooks it came together effortlessly” McCammon said of the band's conception. After a stretch of singles, they made their debut with Years in the spring of 2018. In its first year as a band, Lean garnered the praise of NYLON, Indie Shuffle, IMPOSE, Buzz Bands LA: putting them on the radar of Kitsuné, and high-profile Spotify and Apple Music playlists. She’s constantly pushing boundaries with her blunt lyricism and long, yet relatable titles like “hooking up with someone makes me feel empty.” Experimenting with other artists, she’s collaborated across multiple genres including electronic music, and released her first fully self-produced liquid drum and bass track in 2026. While she juggles learning to self-produce openly with her new releases, she continues to bring a different atmosphere to her live rock shows. **Soft Surface**, the latest project from fuzz pop extraordinaire Cameron Wisch (Cende, Dust Star, Porches), is a punchy dose of power pop brilliance. Recorded together with Seth Engel (Options), Wisch's tightly wound songs are sweet but muscular, with gentle hooks and hefty rhythms. There's a sunsoaked quality to the songwriting, a set of FM gold songs perfect for the summer heat.
