Symbol Soup Symbol Soup is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Michael Rea. Tender and conversational, Symbol Soup creates indie rock songs with folk, country and electronic elements intertwined. Signing with London-based tastemaker label Sad Club (Ellie Bleach, Blood Wizard), Rea released his debut album 'Slow Puncture', receiving high acclaim from a multitude of voices such as Clash, DIY, Line of Best Fit, and Rough Trade. Symbol Soup recently released the single 'Miniatures', and is gearing up to release sophomore album 'Windbreaker' later in 2025 Since relocating to South London from Milton Keynes in 2021, Symbol Soup has become a vital part of the UK DIY community. Through hosting the beloved 'Soupenanny' shows at The George Tavern and The Windmill - where entry is donation-based in support on local food banks - he has cultivated a community of like-minded musicians and audiences.
