Álvaro Benavides always brings the cream of the NYC Cuban scene to our bandstand. Tonite’s lineup: Álvaro Benavides ~ Bass, Vocals Jainardo Batista ~ Congas, Vocals Victor Pablo - Drums, Vocals Ariacne Trujillo ~ Piano, Vocals Originally from Venezuela, bassist ÁLVARO BENAVIDES resides in New York City where he performs with some of the most renowned Cuban bands. A brilliant soloist with unshakeable timing, he can shoulder the groove alone when the other musicians drop out or power the band to a devastating bomba climax. Expect wicked thumps, slaps and slides that congeal and combust with the cajón to produce an uplifting powerful rhythmic surge. For eight years he performed at home and internationally with the Pedrito Martinez Group -- earning a Grammy nomination -- as well as with with Wynton Marsalis, John Scofield, Steve Gadd, Ruben Blades and Issac Delgado.
