JAZZ ONLY presents RE/GEN "A Groove Session" — live event
Jazz Only presents Re/Gen "A Groove Session" Jazz is a music of its time period, it should reflect the present. “Re/Gen” is the regeneration of Kansas City’s historic jazz culture through modern artists. The infusion of Hip-hop, R&B, Soul, Funk, and Jazz will be performed live in between sets from the DJ. The interchange between digital and visual art will resonate with the current state of popular music. To further merge music with culture, we have brought in multimedia artist Kodiak. Known for his exploration in looped, recycled video projections, Kodiak uses his tools much like an instrumentalist — improvising a live performance to create a stellar immersive experience. Run of show: The show will feature a house rhythm composition led by tenured jazz keyboardist, Eddie Moore, accompanied by a rotating cast featuring some of KC’s most forward thinking artists, including The Royal Chief (MC), Henry Scamurra (Sax), and YBC (Young Black Creatives).
