I Get Wild began as a one night concert of Talking Heads songs and became an ongoing party celebrating the music of the iconic NYC new wave pop pioneers who in 2023 are re-releasing their Stop Making Sense to the delight of whole new audiences and longtime fans. I Get Wild is bassist/vocalist Annie Nero, vocalist Jeremy Haines, drummer/vocalist Ray Rizzo, keyboardist/vocalist Stephanie Sanders, percussionist Conrad Doucette, guitarist Michael Phillips and visual artist Michael Arthur. Together they have a history on New York stages stretching back over 25 years. I Get Wild have performed as special guests of The Hold Steady and have twice celebrated the Speaking In Tongues album with performances of the full album program. Visually, I Get Wild explore Talking Heads' melding of popular music and high art presentations via artist Michael Arthur who projects live sketch art created to the band's set list. Expect a thrilling ratio of hits and deep cuts at an I Get Wild show and be prepared to dance and sing your ass off. As For the Future is a Brazilian music-inspired group based in NYC. Drawing on a variety of styles – bossa nova, samba, MPB (Música popular brasileira) – and combining them with rock, jazz, folk, and soul influences, the group mates their distinctive sound with vibrant original lyrics. Started by songwriter/musician David Nagler, As For the Future features co-vocalist Alexia Bomtempo, percussionist Mauro Refosco, David Lizmi on bass, Ray Rizzo on drums, and Ryan Keberle on trombone. Taking their name from a novel by the great Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector, As For the Future is an eclectic musical experience that embodies exploration and discovery, and never looks back.
