In the shadows of Berlin’s winter 2022, a sound began to take shape — otherworldly yet grounded, cinematic yet intimate. From this fertile collaboration of seasoned musicians emerged Red Largo, a new instrumental quartet fusing lap steel, clarinet through electronics, organ, and percussion into something entirely their own. Their debut album "Transmitting" is more than a collection of tracks — it’s a transmission from another place, another frequency. Improvised at Berlin’s storied Candy Bomber Studio, then sculpted into a deeply textured narrative by Fredrik Kinbom, Andreas Dormann , Chris Farr and Sonja Kessner the result is both expansive and deeply human. Critics agree: Transmitting is a “genuinely original” (Visions) and “essential” (Louder Than War) listen. The album has received glowing reviews across Europe and has been nominated in three categories by the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik.
