Toy Cities was born from the collaboration between childhood friends Michael Nesci (vocals, guitar) and Mitch Lee (bass, synth). The Brooklyn based act pulls influence from their shared love of post-punk, new wave and the British jangle bands of the 80's and 90's. Since the band formed in 2013 they have gained attention in and outside New York for their infectious energy and a sound that lies somewhere betweposen the synth-pop sensibilities of New Order and the moody croon of The Smiths. They create a unique tone that is also layered with the modulation, fuzz and reverb of 90’s dream pop, fit for an existential dance party. The group's tight focus on song-craft and melody led Indie Shuffle to declare their latest offering: “a beautiful indie-pop creation.” Their newest EP “Digital Waves” is set to release in the fall of 2019.
