Alt-pop singer-songwriter merci, mercy today unveils her luminous new single ‘Hold On You’, lifted from her recently announced debut album Don’t Take It To Heart, out on Friday 29th August 2025. Alongside the release, merci, mercy shares a run of headline tour dates for fans in VIC, NSW and WA.Written when she was just 16, ‘Hold On You’ is an early merci, mercy composition that blends brooding synths, hypnotic rhythms, and her signature ethereal vocals. Describing the weight of longing for someone you know isn’t good for you, the track’s persistent production mirrors the magnetic pull of a toxic crush.“I wrote ‘Hold On You’ when I was 16 years old in the back of my mum’s car. It was about a boy who I had feelings for but so did every other girl. He wasn’t particularly anything special but for some reason, he just had a hold on me. Liking him was like looking into the sun.
