APLR Presents: This Is Not MANAS (MANAS + Che Chen) with Kelsey Wilson Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 AyurPrana Listening Room - 312 Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC 28806 Doors 6PM || Show 7PM This Is Not MANAS (MANAS + Che Chen) This Is Not MANAS is a new iteration of MANAS as a trio with multi instrumentalist Che Chen of 75 Dollar Bill MANAS Manas is a musical duo consisting of Thom Nguyen and Tashi Dorji. They are known for their experimental and avant-garde approach to music, often incorporating elements of free improvisation and noise into their compositions. Tashi Dori is a Bhutanese-American guitarist known for his innovative and unconventional guitar playing, while Thom Nguyen is a percussionist and electronic musician. Together, they create unique and boundary-pushing sonic experiences. Che Chen Che Chen is a creative musician and multi-instrumentalist interested in the overlapping fields of intuitive music, improvisation and tuning theory. In addition to the solo and collaborative projects here, he also plays guitar in the band 75 Dollar Bill, which he founded with percussionist Rick Brown in 2012. He is also a member of True Primes, and runs a small label called Black Pollen Press.
