Otep is an American nu metal band. The band was formed in November 2000 in Los Angeles by frontwoman Otep Shamaya. The band is noted for their style of "art-house nu metal", and their strong political stances. Red Devil Vortex is a sonic doorway created in the shadows of Hollywood, CA, a doorway that allows you to step out of the ordinary world and travel through the infinite possibilities of its music, rooted in the darkest side of the human heart, reaching the brightest side of the soul, for there can’t be one without the other. Red Devil Vortex’ members came from different walks of life until their paths crossed in Los Angeles. Gabriel Connor (Lead vocals / Bass), Luis Kalil (Guitars) and Eduardo Baldo (Drums) create an out of this world energy when performing together, described as an “explosive wall of sound” by those who’ve witnessed them live.
