Jazz bassist Ameen Saleem, a graduate of Queens College's Aaron Copland School of Music, was invited by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, to participate in the 2004 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Residency Program for jazz musicians under 30 who are both performers and composers. Ameen Saleem has performed with the Duke Ellington School of the Arts Jazz Ensemble, the North Carolina Central University Jazz Ensemble, the Queens College Jazz Ensemble, the Eve Cornelious and Chip Crawford Trio, and The Winard Harper Sextet. ...
