Under Violet, Val Son, Shady Cove — live event

Under Violet is led by Sara Bischoff (Web of Sunsets/Heavy Deeds). Inspired by a mix of Mazzy Star and vintage country, the music is dreamy and spacious, creating a folk-rock glow for projecting minimal and dark portraits. Val Son is a four-piece band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, with members having cut their teeth in the Twin Cities music scene for nearly two decades. Combining varied life and musical experiences, Val Son exists as a collaborative and DIY project. Sonically, they're inspired by bands like Low and Pedro the Lion, while lyrically they draw influence from narrative greats like Lucinda Williams and Townes Van Zandt. Shady Cove - Well over a decade ago, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Sarah Rose and Sarah Nienaber began crafting their music in Minneapolis. They moved to Portland, Oregon in 2014, and after years of exploring the West Coast, the duo recently returned to the Midwest, settling in western Wisconsin—a move that feels like coming home. Shady Cove, their latest incarnation, draws upon a deep well of shared history, creative evolution, and a sense of place that is as nostalgic as it is forward-looking.
