Known for pairing her falsetto with raucous 175bpm drum & bass, her ability to express deep emotion has won fans across bass and pop scenes — evident in her 2023 UK Top 20 hit, Bittersweet Goodbye. Despite a strong artistic identity, she maintains a DIY aura, often exploring euphoria and melancholy. Singles like Sleepwalking ft. Songer, Energy In My Town, Different Planets, and Sirens show her emotional range. Raised in Kent, Issey was influenced by her parents’ eclectic music tastes, writing songs in her bedroom and performing locally. Moving to London in her twenties and uploading early R&B and hyperpop demos to SoundCloud led to a deal with Island Records in 2021 and singles like Who and M40. A meeting with Wilkinson produced Used To This, a liquid D&B hit with 80M Spotify streams and her first chart entry at #13. Issey expanded her solo work with features for Sammy Virji, Clean Bandit, Luude, Moby, Nathan Dawe, and Bru-C. In 2023, while signed to Atlantic Records, she dropped Bittersweet Goodbye, a festival-inspired, Verve-sampling viral hit with over 60M streams and a #19 UK chart peak. In the 18 months since, she’s released more singles, toured with Becky Hill, played the likes of Glastonbury, T omorrowland & Lollapalooza and headlined a sold-out London show.
