Born out of the mid-2000s skate scene, The Jack Moves (Zee & Teddy) are a product of an illustrious period of downtown NYC. While playing around on the MPC, their curiosity soon evolved into a musical adventure that found the duo in a very different downtown: Newark, New Jersey. Across their self-titled debut & sophomore effort (Free Money), The Jack Moves captured the duality of the city, translated into sweet Jersey soul, with an artful narrative. They’ve shared festival stages, toured, and opened shows for the likes of Erykah Badu, Ben Harper, King Krule, The Internet, Madlib, Smino, Thee Sacred Souls, and others... evidence of the diversity of their sound. They take a cinematic approach to the song making, each tune a vignette, where they get deeper into character to deliver essential parts of a new story… The Jack Moves, traveling soul troubadours that they are, packed up their songs and took them down to Adan jodorowsky’s studio in Mexico City.
