Session A9 — live event
Standard Theatre Seated Over the last 25 years, Session A9 have earned their reputation as one of the best live bands in the country, adored by fellow artists and the wider public alike. It is no wonder they are frequently described as a “Scottish Supergroup”. A concert review in The Times quoted “Playing with zest, finesse, harmonic sensitivity and an element of cheek and mischief”. The 7-piece band is Kevin Henderson, Adam Sutherland, Gordon Gunn and Charlie Mckerron on fiddles, David Robertson on percussion, Marc Clement on guitar and songs, and Brian Mcalpine on keyboards. Some are members of Capercaillie, The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc, Deacon Blue, Treacherous Orchestra, The Grit Orchestra and The Celtic Fiddle Festival as well as others. “All the band members have very busy lives but the love of playing live music together keeps driving us and we want to do more”, says Charlie Mckerron.
